Oh yeah, and for all you lucky buggers who don't have to live in New Zealand, Shortland Street is our (by "our" I mean "TVNZ's") attempt at a soap opera. (Hence this GCW comic's title.) "My name is Andrew and I haven't watched Shortland Street for six years." Please, no applause. The last - and perhaps the most memorable - quote that I heard from that gawd-awful dollop of prime-time tripe was "Aaah! You're the mad basher!", spoken by one of the less convincing actors when his character came face to face with a... "basher" who was, uh, "mad". Hmmm.
This was intended to be this year's Valentine's Day spesh, mainly due to of all the gratuitous snoggery and romance and suchnot. But, beware - it ISN'T this year's Valentine's Day spesh! Tune in on St. Val's day for the REAL V-Day spesh, where... "Leon Finds True Love"! (Awww)
