08/07/04: Look at me, I'm INTERNATIONAL! (Printed: May 12, CANTA Issue 9 - The UCSA International Festival issue)

The Stereotyping!
The Stereotyping! The Stereotyping! The Stereotyping!
The Stereotyping! The Stereotyping! The Stereotyping!
The Stereotyping! The Stereotyping! The Stereotyping!
The Stereotyping! The Stereotyping! The Stereotyping!

Go the cultural stereotypes! If you can identify which countries each one belongs to, you win the satisfaction of knowing that you are knowledgeable. (The space one is the fact that it's the INTERNATIONAL Space Station. It doesn't get much more international than something that begins with the word "International".)
These were arranged aroud the Clubs & Societies page, which had some stuff on it about the International Festival.
Incredibly, despite all the angry letters to the editor about cultural insensitivity at the university, nobody had any complaints about my somewhat stereotyping cartoons. As a cartoonist, I don't know whether that ought to be good or disappointing... I know that I personally find it very amusing when I get "culturally stereotyped", so I guess that most other people do too. Oh no, there I go again, generalising about people...
