See? Even the use of currency is ambiguous.
Thanks to my brother, Donald, who came up with the word "Drelunious" many years ago. It was entered into my little blue notebook of made-up words which I occasionally use to get an appropriate sounding Dickens-ish name, or a comic sound effect.
And speaking of made up words, are you wondering what "low'red" means? well, so am I, but after hearing it used twice in The Pirates of Penzance I take "low'r" to mean "lurk". Of course, the apostrophe was probably just put there by Gilbert to make the word fit the music, but I don't know what letter was omitted. Probably "e", but "lowered" just sounds wrong if you thought it meant "made something go lower".
