Yes, it really WAS just a horrible beginning after all. Tune in next week for the FOLLOW-UP episode that spun off this one shortly afterwards! Look in the background for creepy monsters and spooks and stuff. This is a little hommage to the artist of this particular children's book of "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" (I can't recall the author's or illustrator's names offhand). Now, it was one of my favourite bedtime stories as a young'un, but all the way through, the artist has drawn the most creepy, scary and just plain ****ed-up little horrors lurking in every archway. It's enough to give a kid nightmares... or perhaps just give a kid ideas about how to draw monsters and spooks and come up with ****ed-up storylines for cartoons, years later. I think I drew this in late 1995, after I heard about a patch for the 3-D shooter game "Doom" called "Barney Doom" where you have to shoot the Barney dinosaurs and they say "Why don't you love me anymore?" when they die. Never actually played it, though. (-: Oh and in case you didn't know, "Bop" is one of Barney's friends, hence the TV show "Barney and FRIENDS"... Hmmm there's a sitcom in that...

I reckon this cartoon is WAY better than the Disney ripoff of The Sorcerer's Apprentice, don't you?
